Sunday Links: The End is in Sight
You can tell the season is coming to the end, when everyone starts talking about their future. Managers try and play down that they are leaving the club, while agents do their best to earn their money by creating hype about their players. So with that in mind its no wonder that Victor Moses is the concern of speculation with one year left on his contract, unless he signs a new one a move in the summer looks likely.
In my eyes would be a year to early, but if Victor wants to go and be a bench warmer at a mid-table club he is welcome to it. We will take the £8 million and get the next best thing to come our way, or if you have been watching Blackpool we already have the next best thing in Nouah Dicko who is turning a few heads with his performance for the tangerines.
As for our manager he would only go for a big big side, and that for me is a couple of years off. But congratulations to Martinez who picked up the April manager of the month and a well deserved award too, after steering the club past three sides we had to right to beat!
Sunday Links: We did it again!
We did it again didn't we! Many people thought once we lost to Fulham that we would then go onto drop back down to where 'we belong' as they all say. But we put in our best performance in the Premier League, and i really mean that. It was the best I have seen a Wigan team play fro a long long time, and we got the result and the score line it deserved.
But the week was also filled with many rumors about players and the manager. Its getting close to that time where everyone does their yearly shuffle and clubs are now lining up to take our best players, and the man of the moment in Victor Moses looks to be a hot favorite to leave the club. If I was him, you stay another year and then move to a top four side next season, not a top ten side which we could be next year.
That would only happen though, if Roberto Martinez is to stay at the club, and currently there is a lot of specualtion about his future. Dave Whelan has said he won't stand in our managers way if a 'big' club came calling. But I would love to see Martinez keep the loyalty he has for this club. But I wouldn't be bitter with him if he were to leave for someone like Tottenham.
The other main Wigan news this week, has been the ever improving form of Nouah Dicko, who added another goal to his Blackpool tally this weekend. That was after a week where Ian Holloway branded him as one of their important players coming into the play offs. Dicko looks to have a long career ahead of him.
Sunday Links: Nothing lasts forever
Well after a great start to the week (2-1 beating of Arsenal) we ended it with the club losing 2-1 to Fulham. Which if you are anyone who knows Wigan Athletic was just so predictable. That loss could prove to be the reason we stay up though. The lads now know we have a job to do, and it will have levelled their heads as we push on towards survival yet again.
That said it was still a busy week for Wigan. First it was the turn of the papers to build up the rumours, the departures of Victor Moses and Mohamed Diame the ones in the spot light. Diame is likely to go in the summer unless we can get him to sign a new contract which I doubt. Moses on the other hand will stay on, it comes down to the papers saying what they want to stir up trouble.
The rest of the news consistent of us, having signed a Swedish player on a three year contract. Alieu Darbo had been on trial at the club along with Newcastle and Sunderland. But apparently he wants to join us to work with Martinez.
Sunday Links: The last to fall
We finally did it! As 18,000 Wiganers went home happy after our first ever win over Manchester United helped us to surge out of the bottom three and push us on towards Premier League safety for the eight season. Just remarkable.
The result came in the midst of reports that Roberto was set to leave the club in the summer regardless of what happened to the club. Only for the chairman and the manager to both come out and say that Martinez has no thought of leaving for a long long time.
Lets hope it stays that way!
Sunday Links: Robbed Again by the Officals
You would always think, that being the best league in the world, you would have the best officials in the world. Yet that doesn't seem the case, as for the second time this season we were robbed three points by a poor official. For me it shows why video technology would help the game.
The time taken for the Wigan players to talk to the linesman took less time, than it would have taken for a video referee to notice that both the goals were offside. Alas life goes on, but our good run of form doesn't. Yet if we can turn out that kind of performance for the next six games. Then we have nothing to worry about.
Sunday Links: Can we do it?
That feeling what is it called? That feeling that maybe you can do something and that together we are strong and if we pull together and unite Latics can stay up. Hope has returned to the DW Stadium and the lads are going to need it now to start to look at climbing out of the bottom three.
If we are to accomplish that then we need to start winning home games. However historic away wins are always good. Now only Stamford Bridge and the Emerites to win at. How more simple could it be?

Sunday Links: Same old, Same old
When you look back over this season, you realize how frustrating it has been to watch the lads, and this weekends game against West Bromwich was no exception. It looks increasingly likely that we will be on our way down as any chance of staying up went when we only gained two points out of nine we could have.
Anyway to the future of the club and yet another young player has said they are on the verge of joining the club. We maybe on our way down, but there are some exciting your players coming into the club, that could help us regain our Premier League status, if we need to.
Sunday Links: Six points dropped?
A bit late this edition and a match report will follow about the Norwich game. Likely to be tomorrow now though. Been a frustrating week for Latics who have seen their side twice drop points in two games where we looked and were the better side through out.
The chances of falling down are looking bigger but we are only two points from safety going into a home game next week against a beatable West Brom. I know our home form is know good, but with the backing of the ever improving home support maybe we can do it.
