So has it been a good April? Well lets just see what happened, lost twice to two teams that we were so close to beating, sounds like normal. But then you look at the other results from the month of April in three victories over three teams in the top four. What a month! And like Roberto Martinez said following the Newcastle game, probably the best month in the clubs history.

So now we know what happened, have you any idea of who you are going to vote for your player of the month. I could quiet easily put about thirteen names down for how well they have played. Everyone at the club has performed superbly when called upon. Even Jordi Gomez had a good month, scoring one and assisting in another.

But their has to be one winner, and below I have listed my top four. If you disagree let me know about it!

Well I thought this would be an obvious vote really. There has been one player who has settled into the team and us upside down and give us that extra bit we needed to push on towards the end of this season, That players is of Shaun Maloney who won your vote beating is fellow Scots man Gary Caldwell who has had another good month.

Yet Shaun has supplied us with that little bit in the midfield that has give us some momentum. He cam on against Norwich and served up Victor Moses's equalizer on a plate. Before he gave Mohamed the Diame to win the match with a late chance. It was that kind of killer edge we have been missing all season.

You voted and a tie was the result between the captain and the midfielder who has finally burst into the first team. So my deciding vote will decided the winner and I am going for our Captain. Gary Caldwell has finally started to looked like the player we signed two seasons ago and has given me some confidence in his defensive ability.

I say that now, but this time next weekend I will probably be wishing I hadn't said anything.

Well by a large margin of the votes, Victor Moses took Decembers player of the month after a great run of performances which saw the young winger bag two goals and rip so many defences to shreds. He has been for the most our best player all season with some great sergining runs, and the ability to find players in the box.

Yet he still hasn't hit the dizzy heights that we all want. Okay asking for perfection would be a lot of such a young player, yet he has the talent to be the best player to have ever played for this club, and the Wigan fans just want to see more of his raw ability.

With over half the votes Jordi Gomez, was voted your player of the Month for November. I have to say he deserved it on his two performances. When Wigan fans see his name, we often cry out in fear and weep at the thought of him playing on our pitch, but then something has changed about a resident donkey.

I did a post a while ago looking to see could we get the best of Jordi Gomez. Then I said no. He is too slow, weak and hasn’t got that little something to play at the level need for the Premier League. Yet in the last two games (Blackburn and Sunderland) he set himself a new bar to aim at.

Ali Al Habsi the Omanian goalkeeper won your vote, as Pie Eaters Footie  September Player of the month. The 29 year old has only ever excelled since joining the Latics year, and his full move to the club was a well deserved one.

For me, he doesn't get enough credit of the media for the amazing work he has done as Wigan Athletics goalkeeper. For the past year since joining he has been our best player.
