Why Victor Moses is Set to Ruin his Career

Victor Moses of Wigan scores a goal which was disallowed during the Barclays Premier League match between Wigan Athletic and Manchester United at DW Stadium.

Our young Nigerian winger is set to move away from the DW Stadium. That is according to the players agent (Tony Finnigan). Well that will be yet another nose dive of a player from Wigan Athletic. We have seen it happen time and time again over the past few years, where players have felt they are better than the club and moved to soon.

The likes of Pascal Chimbonda, Charles N'Zogbia, Lee Cattermole and Titus Bramble; all left the club saying they were going on to bigger and better things in their football career. Yet not a single one of them has improved upon the glimpses of talent they showed in their days at Wigan.

In the case of N'Zogbia it is early days, but even he could have gone somewhere bigger had he held on a season longer and then moved to a much bigger and better club. No offence to Aston Villa

Wigan Wide Web Alive

Jean Emanuel Beausejour Coliqueo of Birmingham holds off Ryan Donk of Brugge during the UEFA Europa League group H match between Birmingham City FC and Club Brugge KV.

After saying yesterday that it looked unlikely we were close to signing anybody, with in the space of 24 hours it appears that Wigan are finally closing in on the signings that have been long over due. That is of course due to sources, nothing has officially been confirmed as I write this.

I wouldn't expect much till most likely mid day tomorrow, but here is what it sounds like as we stand on two, possibly even three signings that could be on their way to the club.

Macheda Martinez's Top Target

Federico Macheda of Manchester United looks dejected during the Carling Cup Quarter Final match between Manchester United and Crystal Palace at Old Trafford

This rumor just won't go away. When things like this keep resurfacing, then they tend to be somewhere close to what is likely to happen. It is well known that Sir Alex and Martinez have great mutual respect for each other and over the years have done many loan signings between the mangers.

So when you but one and one together you do get that all important number two.

Billy Sharp Catches Martinez's Eyes

Billy Sharp celebrates his goal during the npower Championship match between Ipswich Town and Doncaster Rovers at Portman Road on November 5, 2011.

Billy who? That maybe what some of you are wandering as I tell you that we are lining up a £3 million bid for a striker who is playing for a team in the Championship’s bottom three. However this lad is very good. The 25-year old started his career at Sheffield United and has that style of Yorkshire grit, that we so love to have.

Both Southampton and Ipswich have reportedly been interested in signing the player, yet neither of them could match the £3 million that is needed to release Billy from his contract at Doncaster.

Fulham Enter Hugo Rodallega Race

Photo

So the rumours are all ready resurfacing about where our Colombian striker will be heading this January; that is if the club can’t agree a new contract for him. It has recently appeared this week that Fulham are looking to make a move for the striker and get it wrapped up ahead of the January window.

Hugo who has yet to score this season, has been an important player at the club since signing under Steve Bruce in January 2010. We paid £4.5 million for the striker, so any fee for the player must come on that or over that fee. So a rumoured £3 million bid by Fulham is not acceptable.

Victor Moses and Hugo Rodallega both Stall in Talks

Rodallega and Moses (both on the right), have yet to agree new contracts with the club.

Both Hugo Rodallega and Victor Moses have been in talks with the club over the past few months about different increases in salary and staying at the club. As of the current time, the club are finding it hard to get both players to agree a deal. That is according to new reports during the week.

Rodallega has said over the past few days, that Italian club Juventus are interested in signing the player in the January market if a deal can not be reached by the club. Jonathan Jackson remains optimistic of the clubs chances of getting Hugo to sign a new deal before the window opens in January.
