Q&A: Wigan Athletic vs Newcastle United

The Newcastle United players and fans acknowledge a minutes applause in honour of the late Gary Speed prior to the Barclays Premier League match between Newcastle United and Chelsea at the Sports Direct Arena.

Been a long time since we heard from the opposition fans, but its a nice time to hear from a club, which I will admit i have a great deal of respect for. Newcastle United have been the story of the season, playing great football and winning consistently which to many is a shock and surprise. But to the Newcastle fans it feels like where they ought to be.

A big club in England that has never really fulfilled what they could have and should have done in the past few season, but they are getting close now. Alan Pardew has carried on what has been a great turn around at the club and with Champions League football on the horizon, its no wonder why John Murphy from Coming Home Newcastle was feeling confident as he spoke to Pie Eaters Footie.

Q&A: Wigan Athletic vs Aston Villa

Aston Villa fans look on as a streaker runs on the pitrch during the Barclays Premier League match between Aston Villa and Manchester City at Villa Park.

Its a funny old game football. And as we approach a game, which in my mind was a week overdue. I talked to Aaron Campeau, from 7500 To Holte, about all things ahead of the game. It looks to be an enthralling contest with two teams, that three points would be very much appreciated.

Q&A: Wigan Athletic vs Everton

Everton fans acknowledge a minutes applause to honour the late (and great) Gary Speed prior to the Barclays Premier League match between Everton and Stoke City at Goodison Park.

With the weekend game looming, its time for the away end feature, where we chase up an opposition fan and ask them a few questions about their club and how the season is going for them so far. Unfortuantly for Brain Lewis over at Royal Blue Mersey, he was the one stuck answering our questions.

I have also answered some for them. But check them out after you have heard what Brain has to say.

Q&A: Wigan Athletic vs Manchester City

Manchester City fans turn their back on the pitch following a goal a celebration copied from Lech Poznan fans during the Barclays Premier League match between Manchester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers at the City of Manchester Stadium

As I right this, Wigan are now bottom of the table and are starting to come adrift, and you have to wonder why. Recent performances have been brilliant, yet we haven't picked up as many points as we should have or really needed too.

So when we need three points, what a better teams is there to play than Manchester City. Considering they are on a bit of a down turn. Having lost three of their last four matches, some could say another upset was on the cards. Yet I am not so sure of that.

But as ever I have cornered an opposing fan and asked them what they feel about their club and the up coming match. Danny Pugsley was the fan at the end of the questions, check him out at Bitter and Blue. That's after you have read what he has to say of course.

Q&A: Wigan Athletic vs Sunderland

New Sundeland manager Martin O' Neill waves to the fans before the Barclays premier league game between Sunderland and Blackburn Rovers at Stadium of Light.

Well its the start of the turn around games. Playing the old faces battaling for more important points. Many say these games get harder, yet Everton and Wigan seem to find it harder.

Last year Sunderland had a bad back end of the season. But this year they are hoping for much more. As ever Simon Walsh from Roker Report answered our questions ahead of the first game of 2012 for the Latics.

Q&A Manchester United vs Wigan Athletic

Ah the classic boxing day clash. While many people sit at home with families eating the left overs from another memorable Christmas. Our heroes turn out to play for us, over the years there have been some right crackers of matches on Boxing Day.

So with that day looming, we sent out scouts to the red half of Manchester and Gene Um from The Busby Babe returned out call, and kindly answered some questions ahead of the clash.

Q&A: Wigan Athletic vs Arsenal

Photo

The weeks are coming round so fast, and this week it was the turn of the guys at The Short Fuse to answer my questions, as we dive head first into this weekend’s encounter with Arsenal. In the past this fixture has proven to be a very enjoyable one, for Wigan. A dramatic 2-2 draw last year, and who will ever forget the 3-2 in Martinez’s first season.

Is there more to come?
