Two games and two players now both out for our remaining few fixtures. Both players looked to have done nothing serious in their respective injuries, but both have ended up with server injuries which could keep them out for a few months.
This one may or may not hurt us as much as Alcaraz’s injury. Yet not having the ever reliable Figueroa in a Wigan team is much like there not being an Emmerson Boyce. It doesn’t quite feel right.
Do not underestimate how much this man will be missed. Since the players substituted return against Reading, the team have only lost three games, the player only featuring full in one of those, and that was the defeat to Manchester City.
The young winger, who many Latics fans are now seeing as a first team starter, could miss out on the Norwich game, even though he has no actual ban. The winger is reportedly struggling with an ankle injury.
This young man will go far, or he has the talent to go far anyway. That is if Ryo can keep away his injuries. Wigan fans have only ever seen glimpses of his talent, but what we have seen is very very good.
It has been a week where players are now slowly but surely starting to return to the first team, and at the weekend we saw another one re-join the Latics ranks. Antolin Alcaraz was the second defender to return from injury.
Speaking to the local media, Roberto Martinez has hinted at the return to fitness of the missing trio. Antolin Alcaraz, Ryo Miyaichi and Albert Crusat have all been missing more or less all season.

Another man goes down and it is going to a long hard road for Ramis as he has to overcome a ruptured cruciate ligament. That means the defender will miss the rest of the season, and will only return through the summer.
A 26 man strong squad now reduced with 8 players out injured. Could it get any worse? Well it could, they could all be out for a very long time. I try to piece together just exactly who we can expect back and when.
Both Maynor Figueroa and Gary Caldwell will miss this weekends game against QPR, as they are both to serve a one match ban.
We always said we had too many midfielders, now with two on the sidelines we are starting to look a little short on quality midfielders who can play for Latics.
Well did we expect anything different? The Paraguayan defender is still out with a groin injury, which continues to persist since picking up on the last international duty for his country. Antolin is likely to continue his recovery.
Well it happens doesn't it. Those pesky injuries that players pick up through the season. Yet when it comes to a team like us, we hope that it doesn't happen to often as we don't have the players to cover them.....
The man that was at the helm of our resurgence last season, looks like he could miss the start of this season. The midfielder who was inspirational in the second half of the season, was one of the...
Not many would ever believe it, but our Argentinian striker (Franco Di Santo) has turned out to be a very good player, eventually. It has taken him over a season and a half but he is playing some great football, and the team will and have missed him when he hasn't been on the pitch.
Antolin Alcaraz Out Agian?
The Paraguyian defender is set to miss more game time this season, after spitting out at Wolves defender Richard Stearman on Sunday. Where will Latics bad run end? I for one, don't see it as a...
Captain Gary Caldwell will miss this coming weekends important trip to Wolverhampton Wanderers, after picking up his fifth booking of the season, ruling him out for the next game. The defender who had a so so game against Fulham, where he acquired the fifth booking, will not be missed by the fans.
The signs didn't look good did they? When Diame was taken from behind by Steve Sidwell, in the weekends game by Fulham. It was in all fairness a fair challenge, the player won the ball.
Atonlin Alcaraz ehe Paraguayan international defender has not had the best of starts to a Premier League season. After a great summer away from international duty, Paraguay reaching the final of the Copa America, he came back and missed the first game of the season due to fatigue.
The Columbian striker, who was stretchered off against Everton last weekend, has had some good news through in the past few days. Amid fears that he could have been out for the rest of the season, it now looks like he will be back with in two to three months.
