The EPL season has seemed to have taken off at a fever pitch this year. Three games into the season we prepare for the International Break. Being an American, I'm counting down the minutes to the beginning of World Cup qualifying as my Yanks prepare to take on the "Reggaeboyz" of Jamaica. That's enough rambling and introspect into my twisted mind though, let's get into the meat and potatoes of football this week.
What can us Wigan fans watch to fill the seemingly infinite void between now and September 15th? Two words, "International Football."
Argentina v Paraguay - Antolin Alcaraz will travel to Cordoba on September 7th for World Cup qualifying. The Paraguayan will return to Asuncion with the team for a home-stand against Venezula on September 11th.
Kazakhstan v Ireland - James McCarthy will make his first competitive start for the Republic of Ireland during the World Cup qualifier in Astana. The young midfielder is expected to replace the suspended Keith Andrews in the midfield on September 7th.
Honduras v Cuba - Maynor Figueroa has stated that the Hondurans will "play for the win" as they head to Havana on September 7th. The 29 year old defender will earn cap numbers 86 and 87 after they play at home in San Pedro Sula.
