Suspensions: Figueroa and Caldwell will both miss QPR

Both Maynor Figueroa and Gary Caldwell will miss this weekends game against QPR, as they are both to serve a one match ban.

Just when we thought it couldn't get any worse, Wigan will have to play against QPR with no senior central defender. Ivan Ramis and Antolin Alcaraz are both already out with injuries, and neither is likely to be 100% for the forth coming game. Yet with the return of Gary Caldwell on Monday there was hope, that was until he got himself booked.

Now we will have no first choice center backs, with Maynor Figueroa also missing the game after picking up a red card for his challenge of Demba Ba against Newcastle.

The current situation will cause a big headache this weekend. It is likely that it will be the League debut of Roman Golobart. The talented young Spanish defender who many felt would never make it into a Wigan shirt. Not due to lack of talent, but through sheer bad luck.

However hard work, and a great season last year on loan to Inverness CT, Golobart has progressed superbly. But will he be ready for this weekends test?
