Weekly Poll: Is the time right for Martinez to go?
Currently we linger at the foot of the premier league table, and I will admit at times it has not been through our own doing, yet player performances have let down for the majority of the points we have dropped this season. That said in the past three games, Roberto Martinez's questions look questionable.
First against Sunderland, the removal of both Victor Moses and Mohamed Diame from the staring line up. Arguably our two best players of the season, and look where it got us, a 4-1 defeat at the hands of a team yet again we could have and should have beaten.
Against Swindon, okay it wasn't our main priority. Yet Ali Al Habsi and Gary Caldwell were both included in the squad. For me it was the wrong, move a full youth/reserve side would have been a good option. As the younger lads had the better of the performances.
And against Manchester City, you have to ask, what were you doing. Okay the lads didn't really perform but yet there were points to be had but we didn't go out and get them like we should have do. For me the inclusion of a Jordi Gomez of old was a silly error. Along with leaving David Jones out of the squad.
So what do you think?
Is it time to cut our scars and replace with the new?
Who could replace Martinez? And who would be up to the challenge of keeping us in the Premier League?
